Google ClassroomGoogle Classroom invites were sent to your child's email account this am. Please help them log in and find the intro activities posted. This will be a work in progress as this is new to our classroom routine.
Bonjour mes amis,
It was so wonderful to chat with you all last week. I have missed our amazing class very much. I’m thrilled to be back online and will be communicating to you via this website and a google classroom I have created for the kiddos. Tomorrow I will be sending out a ‘Week at a glance’ style document as well as sending out our google classroom information. Over the course of the week, I will be uploading more links to the ‘resource section’ of this website and uploading fun photos from earlier this year to our ‘photo section’. The kids will be thrilled to see themselves and their classmates. I hope that everyone is staying healthy, and safe. Students will be off for at least the next few weeks, and it sounds like you have all done a fabulous job of balancing working from home and homeschooling. Routines have been very helpful in Room 13, so you will notice that I will be incorporating many of them into our Virtual Learning. Please adapt to what works best for you and your family. Looking forward to this new learning adventure! Our class will be having a Potluck lunch.
When: Wednesday, January 15th Time: 1st NB 10:30am-11:30am To help avoid 21 desserts, here is a suggestion that has worked in the past: Students #1-7 please bring an appetizer (ie: carrots and celery, cheese, etc) Students #8-15 please bring a main (mini pizzas, piggies in a blanket, etc) Students #16-21 please bring a dessert or drink (fruit, jello, cookies, juice boxes) As always, please send what is easiest for your family. If your child wants to bring something outside of the suggested category, by all means please do. :) ALLERGY ALERT: please avoid anything with Sesame My apologies for the later than usual notice, we wanted to confirm that school would be open. Update: Our final dress rehearsal is first thing tomorrow morning (Friday December 20th@9:25am), so students are encouraged to wear their costumes (Elf outfit or all in Black, holiday themed funny hat) to school. We will present for the parents tomorrow as well, FRIDAY, DECEMBER 20th at 12:00pm. Some pre-concert tips to help your child: 1. Quiet off stage ( stand frozen, in a 'mannequin challenge' stillness, when not dancing). 2. Show enthusiam and energy when on stage. 3. Have your costume with you the day of the show. 4. Have fun (when you are having fun, your audience will have fun too). 5. Eye contact. Look at your audience! Good eye contact engages your viewers and shows confidence! SECRET SANTA GIFT EXCHANGE is also tomorrow. Please send your child's gift for the exchange with them to school tomorrow. In the event of a strike on Wednesday, we will have our Holiday assembly on Friday, December 20th, 12noon. (Same start time, just a different day).
We had our dress rehearsal/on stage time today and it looks amazing!! They are set!! Get ready for a fabulous performance! Secret Santa reminder: We will do our gift exchange on Friday December 20th. Please send your child to school that day with their gift for the exchange. Merci! Our big show is a week today!! We have been hard at work, getting our dance routines ready. We are now onto the next stage...COSTUMES!! woo hoo
Could you please help your child create an 'elf' costume. We will be practising on stage this coming Friday December 13 and again on Monday Dec 16th. Costumes are a must by the Monday, but would be welcomed any day before that. :) I've attached photos from the movie that is our inspiration for our theme. Any questions? Please feel free to pop me an email. Until then, have yoursELF a wonderful week! Family Night is tonight from 6:00pm-7:30pm. There will be lots of great things to see and do: games, bake sale, garage sale and fabulous door prizes!
