The class has voted and would love to end this week with a Pajama and Stuffie day! Tomorrow will be the day they can roll out of bed and come straight to school! Messy hair, cozy jammies and stuffies are welcome! :)
Term 1 Report Cards are being sent home with your child today, please have a look at the report and send back the envelope as soon as possible :) Family Day on Monday, February 19th, 2018- no schoolHave a wonderful long weekend!
Today's song was " Mon précieux Par Soprano" see the video below :) The video has a lot of fun 'emojis' that the students enjoyed. The theme of the song is very relevant to today's society and the movement to 'put down your phone'. Parent Connect: Cell phone use for our kiddos is a big topic these days. At what age do we give them phones? How will they know how to handle difficult issues that might arise with their peers due to social media? How can we best help them navigate this, at times, challenging aspect of our popular culture? These are great things to start thinking about. I came across a "Cell Phone Contract" from imom.com and wanted to share it with you. A great form ready to print, or perhaps something to use as a springboard for one you co-create with your child. ![]()
Dance-athon update:Remember - Dance-athon donations are due Monday February 12, 2018
Olympic spirit is in the air! Room 5 was assigned the country Latvia and has been working with Mrs. Padiath on creating mini flags and doing research to learn about the country and its Olympic hopefuls. Tomorrow, Thursday February 8th, Franklin will begin the school day with an Olympic themed assembly. Students are asked to dress in the colour of their country's flag and take their mini flags with them to the event. Please send your child to school tomorrow dressed in RED and WHITE. Go LATVIA Go!!! On a personal note: Strep throat has hit my household, so I have been away from school. I will be back Friday, February 9th and will be able to reply to any messages in your child's planner and/or phone calls at that point. I apologize for the delay and hope that you are all well. We had a day last week, in room 5, with 8 students away!! 'Tis the season for germs, but hopefully they will pass just as quickly as they arrived.
