Room 5 continues to rock out to fantastic french songs. Our song of the month for December was "La Vie est Belle" by Nassi (which we showcased at our Holiday Assembly). This month, we turn to Nassi again for a very timely 'back to routine/back to waking up early' song called "Pas fatigué". :) Have a listen...I dare you not to dance ;p Fun Fact: The dancer "Kida", last year's winner of "So you think you can dance" is featured in Nassi's video. :) Parent Connect: sharing in our children's popular culture can be a wonderful way to bond and connect. Some ideas are the ever popular night time novel read aloud (Captain Underpants is a really big deal with my kiddos right now lol) to television shows. A 'Family Show' such as "Fuller House", "Survivor" and "So You Think You Can Dance" are shows that you can sit and snuggle up with your child. I must admit that some are a little easier to watch for the adults than others ("Sam and Cat" is my daughter's new favourite and I can't tell you how much Ariana Grande's shrill voice gets to my husband and I lol)...regardless, we watch the show...but to be honest, we watch our kids more...how they smile, how they delight in the 'laugh track' style comedy....but shhhh don't ever tell them we can't stand the show! ha ha ha Welcome back to Room 5! I wanted to take a quick moment to thank you all for your Holiday wishes, emails and thoughtful gifts. I feel truly blessed to be working with such a great group this year. I can't tell you how many times I thought about our amazing Holiday concert over the break and had a HUGE smile on my face. Your kiddos absolutely rocked their performances! I was so proud of them.
As we head into 2018 here are a few updates/reminders: We have many exciting learning adventures planned for this year and being prepared with our school supplies will help set your child up for success. As a back to school gift, your child was given a new pencil and a box of crayons. I'm hoping they will last awhile. We are always looking for extra class supplies, so if you have any extra paper, pencils, glue sticks or markers please send them in :) Our New Years Potluck has been moved from this Friday. Our new date is: Tuesday January 16. A sign up sheet will be sent home tomorrow. Have a fabulous week and drive safely. |
