Reading strategies are very helpful throughout your child's reading journey. Last week in class, we learned about the different strategies and then acted them out! See the photo section of this website for some clever, funny and memorable photos from our 'photo shoot'.
Note: the resource section has Tumble Books listed. A wonderful website where your child can listen to and/or read along to a selection of books in BOTH English and French! (and Spanish too-fun!) Username: wrdsb Password: books Happy reading!! As one of our class celebrations, we voted to have a PJ Day! Students are welcome to wear their pjs or comfy/cozy clothes to school. So Room 5.... roll out of bed, grab your favourite stuffie and get ready to have a fun day PJ party style! (note: please make sure jammies are appropriate for school and the cooler weather lol) Thanks!
Progress Reports were sent home today. Please check your child's agenda. Inside you will find a 'Parent/Teacher Interview' request sheet. Please fill it out and send it in ASAP (by this Wednesday at the latest, so that families can be notified). The first interviews start Friday afternoon. Looking forward to celebrating your child with you. Some wonderful words to use as you read over your child's report with them...Our first field trip is Thursday November 3rd.
Students~Please eat a big breakfast as we won't be able to take food on this trip. We will leave at 9:30am and will be returning around 12 noon. Parent volunteers, thank you in advance for your help. A note was sent home in the planners yesterday confirming your spot on our 'Volunteer list'. Looking forward to a great trip! |
