For one of our rock celebrations, our class will be having a 'Secret Santa' gift exchange. We have pulled names from a box and each child has been matched up with another child. They are all very excited for this event!
Please help your child choose a gift (suggested amount up to $10), wrap the gift and bring it to school by Wednesday December 18th. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of next week, your child will be giving their 'special person' a clue. They need to write the name and/or number of their person on the clue so that our Mail delivery Elf knows which mailbox to put the clues in. :) Gifts will be exchanged on the last day of school, Friday December 20th. It is hard to believe that December is right around the corner! Attached below is a letter about our Holiday Assemblies. Our class will perform: Wednesday, December 18th at 12:00noon (exact time TBD). Any questions-feel free to send me an email.
Cheers, Madame Guy At some point over the next 2 weeks your child will be given a 'French Reading Ticket'. It will be stapled into his/her planner. This will let you know what reading level your child is at.
You can access 'Lecture Enfant' at home and use this wonderful resource to support your child's reading goals. The link can be found in the 'resource page' of my website. The password has been memorized by your child...but can also be found in his/her agenda. :) Below is a message from the creator of 'Lecture Enfant', explaining the reading levels. For example, if you child is at 'Level 16', then he or she would be best to use Lecture Enfant 14 and work their way through the higher levels. 'Here is a chart that we use to compare our books to the GB+ series: Lecture Enfant 1-12 (Ananas to Libellule) and GB+ 1 to 12 Lecture Enfant 13 (Moto) and GB+ 13 / 14 Lecture Enfant 14 (Nuage) and GB+ 15 / 16 Lecture Enfant 15 (Oreille) and GB+ 17 / 18 Lecture Enfant 16 (Panda) and GB+ 19 / 20 Lecture Enfant 17 (Quilles) and GB+ 21 / 22 Lecture Enfant 18 (Rose des vents) and GB+ 23 / 24' What a fabulous way to make Home Reading fun, flexible and engaging!
